Student Kisses Green Day Lead Singer/Guitarist Billy Joe Armstrong

The Korean Internet is alive with netizens talking about last night’s Green Day Concert. No, not because it was such an incredible performance, but because apparently an “immature student” (claims after the concert say that she was born in 1992) found her way up on stage and engaged in a “열련한 키스” (enthusiastic/deep kiss) with lead singer/guitar player Billie Joe Armstrong.  Judge for yourself by following the link on pic.

Apparently after the kiss, the young lady exploded, “I deserve to die today, because I kissed you.” To  which Billie responded, “Okay, you deserve a stage dive today!” It’s not clear whether he misunderstood her or was bringing some clearly needed levity to the situation.

The linked article from Kukmin Ilbo’s Kuki News (pronounced more like cookie news) also states that the popular current issue site 디시인사이드 is afire with commentary, critical of both the married and 37-year-old Mr. Armstrong and sponsors of the show, Hyundai Card. Now being referred to as the ‘Green Day Deep Kiss Incident’, it’s sure to keep the ‘netizens’ fired up for a while.

    this is outrageous…… I’m a Korean myself….. but I think that Korean media is over reacting….

    I mean….. Billie rocks.. I would have kissed him myself…. all over the world Billie kisses at least one guy/girl… but I think Korea is the only country that thinks that it is big deal….

    the girl who kissed him must be heart broken because of the flowing critisms and comments about her…..

    Because I am a Korean….and because I’m a huge Green Day fan

    I’m ashamed of the Korean medias….
