Chois’ Tacos: The Best Burritos in Korea?
Is it supposed to be ”Choi’s Tacos” or ”Choice Tacos”…or is it a pun?
Who cares! What’s in a name? Nothing. What’s in these tacos? Everything you’ve ever dreamed of.
Rather ironically, “Chois’ Tacos” (초이스 타코) has been making a name for itself (whatever that name is) with it’s burritos. As many bloggers will attest, this little hole in the wall serves up the best burritos in Seoul. The restaurant is owned and run by the well-traveled Mr.Choi, who lived in America for years before learning how to make Mexican food in Mexico. You can’t get any more authentic than that.
“Chois’ Tacos” has been operating since 2005. Word-of-mouth has not only kept this place alive, but has kept it thriving. It is a popular destination for Koreans and foreigners alike.
It is especially popular among those clubbing types who party extra hard in Hong Dae and require a satisfying burrito, quesadilla or taco for breakfast. As soon as you bite into those re-fried beans/rice/guacamole/salsa/sour cream and real cheese (with your choice of chicken, beef or vegetables) you are in heaven (no matter how much you had to drink the night before).
To find your fill of Tex-Mex: Take the green line (number 2) to SinChon station (신촌). Go out Exit 3, walk straight and take your 3rd right. Look for Chois’ Tacos on the right hand side. Watch out, if you blink, you’ll miss it. Luckily it’s red, so it stands out.
