Australian Golf Pro Joins Troon Golf Academy
The Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul, which is set to fully open its doors at the end of March 2010, announced that Peter Claughton has joined its elite Troon Golf Academy as Director of Golf. Tasked with setting up a top-notch academy, Peter brings over 23 years of experience in golf coaching, education and management in Australia and abroad, including time spent in Korea heading up a golf academy in 2007 and 2008. He also served as the program director and head coach at the Kooralbyn International School throughout the 1990s where many champions were developed.
“I am honored to be a member of the Banyan Tree Club and Spa Seoul as the Director of Golf for the Troon Golf Academy,” said Mr. Claughton. “My goal is to provide a unique golf training experience, one that goes beyond hitting balls at the range and utilizes tailored individual programs to identify strengths and weaknesses and rectify them.”
“The addition of a PGA-certified professional of Peter’s caliber is special as he brings a wealth of expertise in golf education, especially in the development of junior golfers,” explained Stefan Thumiger, general manager of the Banyan Tree Club and Spa Seoul. “As part of our goal to be a premier family destination, Peter will provide first-class coaching and training for all age levels.”
