The Hwacheon Ice Fishing Festival (화천 산천어 축제)

Just a few kilometers south of the snow-covered DMZ is the little town of Hwacheon. This year, the town is all lit up with over 16,000 fish-shaped lanterns. The warm lights beckon visitors to Hwacheon’s magical winter wonderland, more commonly known as the Hwacheon Ice Fishing Festival.
